In the southern Denver metropolitan region of Arapahoe County, you’ll find the City of Centennial. They then proceeded to file a petition for an election to determine the viability of forming the City of Centennial.
Their efforts, however, were not fruitful on the first attempt. But, paid off, on the second petition dubbed the “Centennial Petition.” The Colorado court validated their appeal and on July 21, 2000, unanimously approved the election.
The voting took place on the 12th of September 2000, where 77% of the voters overwhelming consented to the city’s formation. Five months later, on the 7th of February 2001, the city of Centennial, Colorado legally came into existence.
